Alice Sylvester, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was beloved by her family and friends. She was known for her sense of humor as well as her generous and caring nature. She always brought out the good side of others and was known for her giving ways. She immensely enjoyed the company of the ladies of her crocheting group at the Buck Recreation Center and playing cards with them when it was possible. Along with these ladies much of her time was spent crocheting for the homeless and hospitals through the Volunteers of America. We as a family, will all strive to continue her honest and heartfelt approach to life. She will be greatly missed and cherished always in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, we encourage a donation be made to: Buck Recreation Center 2004 W Powers Avenue Attn: Linda Aluise, Senior Program Donations Littleton, CO 80120 In Memory of Alice Sylvester Member of the Hooks and Needles Group Our family feels the following poem captures our wonderful "Mother and Grammie". THE WATCHER by Margaret Widdmer She always leaned to watch for us Anxious if we were late, In winter by the window, In summer by the gate. And though we mocked her tenderly Who had such foolish care, The long way home would seem more safe, Because she waited there. Her thoughts were all so full of us, She must be watching yet. Waiting 'til we come home to her Anxious if we are late Watching from Heaven's window Leaning from Heaven's gate.
