Alice C. Sandoval Wright

November 26, 1917 — June 24, 2016

Alice C. Sandoval Wright joined her honey Sam Wright, her parents and siblings in heaven on June 24th, 2016. Alice's extended family deeply misses her and has wonderful memories from her 98 years she was with us to comfort us going forward! Alice was the last of the Sandoval children to enter heaven. Born in Albuquerque New Mexico in 1917 to Benedicto and Petrita Sandoval, the sixth child of nine. Alice was proud to have attended The Harwood Girls' School, graduated as the valedictorian of the class of 1936 and then went on to UNM, where she graduated and went on to teach kindergarten at Wee Tot pre-school in San Pedro, CA from the late 60's to the early 80's and was known by many children in San Pedro as Miss Alice. She so enjoyed children all her life and was proud to be the mother of Sylvia Franks, Nancy McGinnis and George Wright as well as the grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of many and so fortunate to be the Great Great Grandmother of 4 children! She will also be missed by her numerous nieces and nephews in both New Mexico, California and Colorado. The family will be hosting a celebration of the Sandoval family and the passing of Alice on July 30th, 2016 at the family church in Albuquerque. This is the church her father had the pleasure of preaching at, Second Presbyterian Church 812 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Times to be worked out but all are invited and it is our hope to have a family member from each of the Sandoval nine present to share memories of the whole family. Alice touched many people in her 98 years and that legacy will live on with family and friend. Yes Friend, Alice had one friend left, Evelyn LaNegro, a co-worker and buddy who is 103 years old. It's ok to shed a tear at her passing but find a reason to smile as well! It could be the letter or card she mailed you after a life event! It could be the smile and hug you received when she saw you, as she was fond of saying, “Come on give me a hug, I’m a hugger!” It could be the candy she fished out of her purse to leave you with when saying goodbye! Or it could just be the way she made you feel special when you were with her! God bless us all!
